The start of a new decade is always fun but this past one has been "my decade". In 2000 I turned 30. In 2000 I quit smoking (cold turkey). I started in 1984. In 2001 I received my bachelors degree and has gastric bypass surgery. In 2003 I received my masters degree with distinction. In 2005 I decided to adopt and began the process to motherhood. I met Robert in 2007 and brought Emme home in 2008.
This year I'll be 40.
In 10 years, I've earned two degrees, quit a nasty and costly habit, lost 100 pounds, met someone who makes me smile and became a mother. Life is grand.
It will be hard to top those 10 years for sure. Here's hoping that the next 10 you get to enjoy the fruits of all those labors!!!!
