We interrupt this trip down memory lane to bring you Emme and her chick, affectionately named Ming-Ming. They did an egg/chick project all week at school and Emme was the helper for egg #1. She saw it hatch on Tuesday and named it Ming-Ming. She is very sad to see them go back to the farm today but glad she got to hold them all week.

Around the corner

In two and a half weeks Em and I will celebrate our first family anniversary. Since 6/20 is both my birthday and the day we were united, we're calling it Emme/Mommy day. Her adoption day 6/23 will be celebrated as forever family day. In some ways it's hard to imagine we were ever apart and other days it seems like just yesterday. Sometimes it's hard to remember the physical changes so I was looking through pictures. Each day from now until 6/20 I'll share photos of the month leading up to our year together. Today we'll start with referral and photos from before we were united. The one of her looking at a book was the album I sent her in my care package and the one where she is wearing a hat is a shot of my computer when I watched her on the webcam at the IAAP center where she lived.
