Two Years Ago Today

Two years ago today, I received the phone call that would change my life.  Maury from FTIA called to tell me she had just received a file from the shared list and thought this was MY girl.  She gave me a few tidbits and asked if I wanted to see the file.  Unlike my first experience with the shared program I said an enthusiastic YES.  I was home sick so got the email quickly.  This is what I saw!

I started to cry and tried my mom.  I couldn't reach her and called Nic who was teaching.  I reached Kris and sent her the file since she's a good friend but also an RN.  I had 48 hours to make a decision and submit my LOI and Family Plan.  To be continued........

Hard to believe that your first pics of Emme she had so little / no hair. She has some of the most gorgeous hair today of just about anyone I know!!!

To me, these pics don't even begin to scratch the surface of the treasure she is!!!

I remember the whole story but it is fun to reminise. It was truly a very special day.

Lisa- Congratulations on almost 2 years with Miss Emme! I have followed your blog all this time, and have loved watching your precious girl grow up. :-) Thank you for taking a chance on her, for showing how joyful a SN adoption can be. I started thinking about SN after watching your example...and I've now been a mom for 4 weeks!! :-) Olivia (NiNi) is having heart surgery this week, she has defied the odds to survive this far...but she will go home a normal kiddo! I love watching how you balance a boyfriend, career, and motherhood- cuz now I'm trying to do the same thing! :-) Take care! Hug that sweet Emme for me.
