Up up and away

After the infamous party on Sunday we went to the park with Em's balloon. She ran around chasing dogs, laughing, giggling and having a good time being in the fresh air. We chased each other to see who could run faster. Her hair was flying in the breeze and the belly laughs could be heard all around. We sat on a bench and "talked" about how lucky we were to have each other. She now says "Emme, mommy, family" which we've been practicing. I suggested we throw her balloon up in the air and send it with a message to China to let everyone there know how happy we were. Did I expect a two-year old to understand anything I was saying? Did I think she would part with HER balloon for anything? Next thing I know she throws the balloon up, waves bye-bye and closes her eyes as if she's making a wish. There's some other stuff going on at the moment contributing to these feelings which involve her "discovery place" which I just received photos of. In many ways I wish I could get on a plane tomorrow and spend a year in China working with the neediest children while they wait...and wait....and wait.

You know we don't give kids enough credit. They understand more than we think!

This is a moment you can re-live with your daughter for years to come. What a great bonding moment. The balloon is a symbol of you all coming full circle It gave me chills to think Emme did this.

Enjoy your family.
