Could it be?

Last night I moved Em's bed into my bedroom and next to my bed. She dragged in her blankets and sat on it for an hour playing and looking at books. She fell asleep in my bed but I moved her successfully and she slept 9 1/2 hours. I hope this is the start of a more normal schedule for her. She went to bed at 9:30pm and woke at 7:15am. We had scrambled eggs and a yogurt drink for breakfast and we are going to play outside a little later. My sleep was a little more restless as I kept checking on her and worried that the damn fireworks going off at midnight wouldn't wake her up.

Slowly coming together. It sounds like Emme is really a social child. It will be nice to get her into a routine with other children. I'm sure she is missing that.

It sounds like you are doing a good job of figuring out what she needs and giving it ot her...like you've been a mom forever! And the better you get to know her, the easier it will be.

Awesome!! BTW, could I have seen your pic on the IAAP Update e-mail? There was a little girl from the Siping Center that just met her mom in Beijing, and it looked a lot like you both!

I am happy that you guys are getting back to normal. I just got my agency newsletter and there you were on it. I sponsored your daughter for the time she was at the foster care. How neat is that. You can be sure that she was well loved AND spoiled by the nannies. If you rec'd her straight from them that would explain why she had such a hard transition those first few days. My daughter was at the center for 16 mos and she had a very very rough time adjusting, but luckily for me the SWI had to experience that grieving and when I rec'd her she was happily waiting for her mama and had very little saddness. She still talks of her China Mamas ... good luck you have a very special little girl
peace and happiness Bonnie

Hi Lisa,
Mary here (Haley Pings Mom) . You guys sound like you are settling in well- it takes a few weeks to get your legs under you so to speak. She is just gorgeous!!! I too remember being afraid to be left alone- especially with all the Dr's appts and such and I was SO tired. Just sleep when you can and have fun with her and dont worry about your apt etc.. - pretty soon you will be amazed at how you figure out your own routines that work for you two and soon you will feel like a veteran Mom- traveling home from China with a baby is like new Mom bootcamp-you can do anything now:) .
Best,
Mary
